Question RX330 - Usefulness of center console cup holders

Is it just me or are those center console cup holders not that great?

I've found that a large travel coffee mug does not sit snugly in the holder. That part that folds down doesn't seem to provide enough resistance to hold the mug tightly in place.

I find myself having to hold on to it to prevent it from toppling over.

Any thoughts?

please don't take it personally - but they're cup holders - as in "cup" - they do provide a bit of room to grow - but the oversized mug or Big Gulp wasn't intended for them - those may do better in the center console.

Well, compared to the Rx300 console, I think the Rx330 console sucks. It was a giant step backwards The two drawers in the Rx300 kept my stuff much better organized than the single deep pit in the Rx330. I also managed to use all 4 of the cupholders at one time, and now I have to reach into the back seat of the Rx330 to use the two back there in addition to the two in the console. I also find that the handle on my Starbucks coffee mug (grande latte - not that big) keeps it from fitting down in the recesses of the console cupholder properly. Unfortunately it doesn't fit in the little bitty thing near the door either.

The console is my biggest gripe about the new vehicle. The 2nd biggest gripe is that I have to keep manually shutting off the nav voice prompts. Otherwise I'm happy

Default RX330 - Usefulness of center console cup holders

They aren't the best cup holders in vehicles we have owned but I do like their placement area. I just don't like how close they are together. If I put two 32 oz cups in the front holders, the tops of the cups are squished together. These are common fast food type cups which I would have thought would have been a thought during the design phase since they are so common. Still happy owners after 2 weeks and 1100 miles.

The only drinks I or my wife have used in the RX330 so far is Starbucks cups, regular 12oz soda cans, various sized drinks from fast food places, and so far I have not had any trouble. We haven't used any sort of coffee mugs though.

Default Rx300/Rx330 console swap?

I was talking about this with my wife last night, and we are in total agreement than it would be so cool if we could swap out an Rx300 console into our Rx330. Does anybody know if it will fit?
