My dad is buying an RX330 for my mom. He's struggling to find the right order package and he doesn't really want to wait to order. He did tell me he found his car with the performance package that includes air suspension.
He's hesitant, thinking the air suspension will be a nightmare if it breaks down. I know that on LS400's it's ridculously expensive to fix, and they tend to go out after 8 years or so. Fortunately, my dad only keeps his cars for about 5 years.
What do you think about the air suspension? Does it ride better then conventional?
Finally, is it true that next year's RX330 will be hybrid only?

I have the air suspension now, but I have also driven the regular suspension. I wasn't able to notice a difference. As far as the repairs, I was concerned about those costs as well. I'm hoping that Lexus' reputation of qulaity will result in a long lasting product. I'm only planning on keeping mine 4 or 5 years, so the warranty will probably cover any problems.
Lexus is planning on making the current model and a hybrid model for 2005.

I have the performance pkge with the Nav. I would recommend just the regular suspension. It does help with handling on winding country roads, but my kids complain that it makes the ride too stiff.
Also, you have to manually select the better handling each time you turn the car on. Lately, I dont even bother since the RX in the standard mode handles well and rides nicely too.
The nav is good to have. Nice when travelling. My wife took my daughter to college in Philadelphia, 250 miles away. Programmed it with the address and the Nav directed them there. She stayed in Philly several days. Whenever they needed to drive to a store or whatever, they just programmed the address again in the nav and drove there. And they didnt even know the city at all.
