Default windows

I have a issue. my right front and right rear windows will not go up and down from the master control panel on the drivers side. initally it was diagnosed as that entire switch. However; I replaced that switch yesterday and they still do not work from the master controls and also now the drivers windows wont auto down or up u have to hold the switch. where do i go from here with this?

Have you tried undoing your battery for a reset? BTW did you replace the SW correctly? Who diagnosed it as a Switch issue, Lexus? If you correctly replaced the switch, then the root cause is coming from somewhere else. This symptom described is normally corrected by a reset.

Where did you get the switch from? When the master switch on my 07 broke, I bought a switch off of ebay and it did not work right. Returned it and tried another seller - same thing. After a third switch, I got a Lexus switch from a junkyard car and it worked just fine.

Lexus has 2 switches in the parts book, 84040-48140 for JDM cars and 84040-0E011 for NAP cars. My car is NAP and the 3rd party switches all used the JDM part number but the switch makers claim there is no difference. My experience says otherwise.

thanks for that info. I’m gonna go after the seller for refund. So is mine the 48140 the right one for my rx? Mine is definitely a Japanese built and made rx.

Yes the 84040-48140 is for the cars made in Japan. The VIN will start with the letter J.

That's why I went the junkyard route. If you go to a pick and pull yard, that is the least expensive. Lexus prints the part number on the bottom of the switch.

yea no kidding! I found a place that has it and it’s a used auto parts place. They have it but they still want 130 bucks including tax for it. I’m gonna try and see how much it might be through autozone as i work there and can get a 20 percent discount

Also though now my memory seats don’t work either as they won’t store seat and mirror positions. Could that be tied into the power window master controls somehow?

Yes. Pins 3, 13 & 17 in the wire harness plug go to the seat memory switches.

Ok so what hapens when you plug your old window switch back in?

It would be interesting to see if you get back your seat memory and this could easily confirm incompatibility of the Ebay switch very fast.
This is a DIY 10 minute test.
