Default Summer vs all-season tires..whatcha recommend?

Hi everyone, how goes it? I was wondering, as i will most likely be getting new tires for the summer. I have dedicated winter tires.
was curious as to what most of you run....all seasons or summer tires? If using summers, and get caught in a bit of snow, will i be stuck?
what brand/model tires have you had good experience with?
also, in terms of stoarge, i keep our tires in our shed in winter..is this bad?
thanks

I like the Bridgestones - Turanza or Ecopia they are quiet and the Ecopia will increase your Gas Mileage by at least 3mpg. I had them on my E350 Mercedes for 7 years and got 70,000 miles out of them. Mind you I kept them properly inflated and rotated every 5,000 miles. My wife's Audi Q5 is due next spring and I will be headed over to Discount Tire for them. Almost always have a Rebate Available. I put the Turanzas on my Daughter's RX50 2 years ago and they still look brand new!

Toledotom, thanks for the advice. I'm looking for a quiet ride, tire that has good tread and lasts quite some time. I'm not racing my rx350 so i think performance tires aren't necessary. Hahah
i'm curious to know if, by keeping my current tires, in a cold shed in the winter time, caused them to dry rot?

any other brands?

I kept my tires in my basement when not using in carry bags. I would clean them up in my walk-in shower before putting them away. I would dress them so they shined and just carried them out to my car and take over to Discount tire. they remount and balance for FREE! The Taranza is a Really Quiet tire so is the Ecopia! Go over to your local Discount tire and ask them? I really liked the ride and handling on my Benz. I drove them hard to many times exceeding 90mph.

Bridgestones! Can not go wrong with them. Get it the cheapest at Costco when they are on sale.

Where I bought my Toranzas, They had to order them in, don't think because the sales person we don't have this model or size? They ordered mine in 2 days on the truck! They can order You the correct size and style of tire. The service Manager just has to make a note on the ordering of tires. They order almost everyday and the truck comes in sometimes in the morning or late afternoon depending where you are at? Don't just accept NO! Tell them to order them or see the manager? I still think Discount Tire has a better PRICE with the rebates and the charge for lifetime balancing and rotation! Just a thought???

I typically run all seasons as I rarely have another set of wheels. My former RX330 had Ecopia tires, not the biggest fan of them, they were noisier than I'm used to from other Bridgestone/Firestone models. I run Firestone Destination LE2's on my NX and prefer them better, quieter and seem to wear more evenly. Testing the newest gen Turanza on my Audi Q5 but ran the old gen's on my Camry and LOVED them.

I am a big Bridgestone/Firestone fan as you can tell but I do recommend Michelin's. Both have great summer tires too, but I'm useless recommending any models. While it's not recommended, you can drive on very light snow with summers but you better be on high alert as those can throw you at any moment.

Also, store tires like you store dry goods, cool and dark place. Extreme heat and cold will speed up the deterioration process.

Hi gang, thanks for the info.
i too have used bridgstone's before (mostly their winter tires) before and really like them.
wasn't sure about all-season or summer tires.

I guess i could try summer tires, as i have my all seasons mounted on the oem mags (rims) and my winters already mounted on steelies.
i have a jack and air tools and do my tire changes myself.

i have General altimax as winters and right now have Michelin defenders as the all- seasons. Of the different tire brands i've had, i've never been a fan of Michelin's. I have these as they came with the car when i got them.

Jump on Tireracks tire testing as they test 3-4 similar tires....Have a look at Discount tire reviews as well.......I'd be looking at different brands for the money.......
