Thinking of buying my first Lexus and came across this ad local to me 2006 rx400h the mileage scares me but hey it's a Lexus right? I know the price is a bit high according to nada. Should I even consider it or wait, what should I look for? Forgive me if this has been asked i did a little searching. Should I hold out for a 350 instead? Coming from German cars. Thanks for Alaska

I personally would pass. I'm not afraid of the miles but the condition of the exterior turns me off, if you don't to keep it in good shape visually, no telling on the powertrain maintenance. Unless you have a maintenance history with it?
Also to take into consideration is the hybrid battery, if they have not been serviced/replaced, it's 15 years on it.....

The only good thing about it is 1 owner.

Seems like a lot of $$$ for a car with high mileage and body damage.
I'd deduct $2k for body damage cuz that damage doesn't look cheap to fix.
Is that mold damage on the back carpet from water leaks or a shadow?

If it wasn’t a Hybrid I’d consider it for the right price. I personally think that you should pass. This RX besides being a hybrid it’s not in good condition. But given it’s a hybrid with this age if those batteries aren’t shot yet they are on the way out. If you want a hybrid I’d only consider a much newer model or one with history of new battery packs. Being your introduction to Lexus I’m afraid this wouldn’t make a great first impression.

I personally would pass on it because it's a 15 year old hybrid with body damage and high mileage, the hybrid battery has reached the end of it's service life, I just recently bought my first Lexus for my wife, it's a 2007 RX350 with 165,000 miles in excellent condition for $8,000, unless you can afford a newer Lexus RX hybrid I would be looking at the all gas powered RX350"s, you will be saving money in the long run
