Default Coolant leaking from crack just behind front grill

Is anyone able to identify which part is cracked and causing a coolant leak in my ‘07 RX400h? Is this something I’d be able to replace easily, considering I’m a novice when it comes to car repairs? How much is a realistic price to have this issue repaired?

Crack on the left side of radiator coils where coolant is leaking and seems to be spattering all over under the hood.

Pink coolant showing all over the radiator coils.

Splattered coolant visible all over under the hood.

Closer view of the crack

I depends on if you have the patience for repairs. Removing radiators reqquires draing the coolant, removing hoses, removing cowling, and any attachment hardware. But you have to find a replacement otr take it to a welding shop to have repaired and tested. A novice can do it but keep track of exactly how you take it apart. If it is your only car you might bite the bullet and pay a local shop to do it

I was quoted $480 all-in for the replacement including installation labor and taxes. Do you think that’s a fair quote? That is in the burbs of Chicago.

I would guess it is a fair quote but just make sure the place is reputable. I assume that is a radiator replacement. Make sure they give at least 30 day warranty so you can check for leaks

I just watched your youtube video from the link you posted above and you may have more than one leak.

The cracks are a big deal in the main engine cooling radiator because the radiadiator can split and dump the coolant at any time and kill & overheat your engine fast but I'm also seeing red coolant all over the small sub-radiator in front of the condenser for the hybrid cooling and it looks bad too.

Hard to tell where the actual leak is or if it is spraying red coolant all over so a pressure test will need to be done asap.

Like mentioned above it can be done by a novice(little risky as you know) with special attention to detail and I'd watch many videos especially about getting the air out of the system and the bolts back exactly where they go- especially the cooling fan shroud bolts- lower ones are shorter to avoid piercing the radiator.

Your link
