Default Loose Headlight

First hand wash today on this new purchase and noticed that the passenger side headlight moves. Opened the hood and found 2 brackets at the top of the headlight are cracked. It appears I would have to change the entire housing. I did a search and loose headlight and did not find a fix.
I am hoping to try a strong adhesive on both cracks to see if I can avoid replacing the headlight. Any other thoughts on a fix?

Another user on here had a similar issue, I suggested trying to find a local plastic welder. Adhesive is a very short term fix and will crack again, it needs to be reinforced and then welded if you want to save on replacing the whole assembly while having a reliable fix.

I have no doubt you can find a good Epoxy product to glue that up.
In fact, Gorilla Glue makes a very easy-to-use 2-part epoxy glue that hardens like steel. They sell it at Home Depot.
The key, I believe, to these epoxy glues are 1) follow instructions exactly, 2) make sure surfaces are clean (use alcohol), and 3) give it plenty of time to fully cure.

Good luck with your new Lexus.

Thanks of the link. I would not have thought that there was a replacement bracket that could be screwed on.

Congrats on your new purchase and nice pics of the damage.
Previous owner may have hit a bird or something going pretty fast to crack it like that, just a guess.

The Lexus part numbers are 81194-48030 for the left bracket and 81193-48030 for the right bracket.
They are $20.70 each at mylparts.com plus s&h. Club Lexus members get a 5% discount.

I would not have looked at that thread based on the title. However, you were correct from the beginning and I thank you for your photo of your repair. Overpriced pieces of plastic brackets but the perfect solutions.
Do you know why your brackets cracked or it is just wear and tear? My driver side 2 brackets are fine.

They were designed to save headlights in small car accidents.

I AGREE
My car slid and hit the barrier at low speed and the headlight housing was pushed inside and new tabs were enough to fix it
