How do you get a dealer to change the stock Goodyear RS-A's tires to a Michelin MXV4 S8 tires?

-tell them it is to loud...
-tell them it shakes...
-tell them you don't like goodyears

What must I say/do to make them change the tires?

NOTE: I haven't picked up the RX330 yet.

Interesting. I had the same question, except that I wanted the Goodyear's. I think that the road noise on the Michelin's are quite load. But, I guess I was wrong. I guess my next set won't be Michelin or Goodyear.

What determines whether a particular vehicle comes with Goodyear or Michelin's?

I agree. I consider us fortunate that our RX330 came with the Goodyear tires. Based on a similar discussion in Edmunds' Town Hall, the stock Michelins have a maximum rating of 35psi, while our stock Goodyear tires have a maximum rating of 44psi.

Being OEM, I wouldn't expect either tire to be great, but I am a bit confused that the Michelins are rated to only 35psi. That isn't very much margin from the recommended inflation.

I have the RX330 with the performance package and Michelins tires. The car does handle really well. Based on what I see overall of Lexus, its service and quality, I dont think Lexus would have put a "bad" tire on the RX. Both Goodyear or Michelin tires are probably fine.

You would think this would be true, but you did hear lots of complaints about the Goodyear Integrity's that came standard on many of the RX300's. I agree that either tire on the RX330 should be fine - I have the Michelins which ride and handle very nice, and I happen to have the same model Goodyears on my FX45, just in a different size, and they handle very good also.

I do find it a bit strange, though, that the Michelin's have that maximum 35 psi rating - I don't remember any other tire being this low and I do wonder about it. When I tow my boat on a long trip with the FX35, I always inflate them to near 40 psi, and I'm not sure what I would inflate the RX330 tires to if I were use it for towing - 35 I suppose.
