It has been fun …
Gang,
For 17 years, I have been a proud owner of a original 1 owner 77K 04 RX330 but sadly, I was involved in a Hit and run on a freeway in Northern CA over the weekend.
Family is ok but the my insurance company choose to total my car or I could keep my car with a salvage value. I choose to accept a settlement with my insurance company.
The good news is I am getting a Tesla SUV Model Y as a replacement! It has been fun in sharing my thoughts and experiences with you guys.
Stay safe out there and maybe I’ll see some of you at the Rx300 board.
I still have the RX330 cousin with me , a 2001 RX300 with 77K original

That's unfortunate to see a low-miles RX taken out too soon.
I watched a couple of reviews of the 2022 RX today. I can't blame you for not wanting a new RX.

Thats a real bummer about your hit 'n run, main thing is you & your family made it out safely, glad to hear your all ok. Seems like this incident got you going sooner on to a Telsa. btw my daughter inlaw has a '19 model Y & no its not the standard color........Make sure you pass on the standard color....

Such a shame about the car, but glad it protected you all. This is the main reason I hesitate to put costly upgrades into a used vehicle. Accidents happen, and improvements are not factored in the value. When our previous car was hit by an uninsured motorist, my insurance company also chose to total the car and pay its former value. There was not a lot of damage, but the costs of restoring would be more than the it was worth. We had uninsured motorist coverage. They paid its value and allowed me to keep the car for a nominal amount. I don't remember how much, maybe $500 or $1000. I had been helpful to them in obtaining video of the accident, but I don't think that was the reason they let me keep it.

Yea the damage was really not much but they gave me an option
of a cash settlement or I can keep the car and they would
Settled at half what they would pay out as a settlement.
I choose a full settlement and the insurance company paid me
high KBB private sale in excellent condition amount.
I had no plan to replace my RX to be honest as it was in mint
condition but with a settlement of $11,000, I think I did ok.
The guy that hit me try to over take me “ on the shoulder”
and clip my front fender only. The damage was again not too bad
but the insurance company choose to Total the car.
Quite honestly, the car even when repaired will never be the same
with paint match etc.
Just waiting for my Tesla to convert 😎

BTW, I don’t know what color your family chose but I’m going for the Pearl white with white interior and
it was really eye catching. Love the Pearl white
