I am a long time owner of 1st gen RX300’s and user of that clublexus forum. I’m now looking at a used 2008 RX350 with 146K on it.
I have seen that there were recall notices on oil hoses for the oil cooler and VVT-i that both were to be replaced with hard pipe. I should be able to see the oil cooler but the VVT-i lines seem tucked back to where I won’t be able to tell directly. Hopefully the dealer they use has a record.
I’d appreciate any other suggestions for inspection that users have noticed are particular wear items..

The only other notable *potential* issues are the power steering rack and water pump.
I suggest getting the VIN and register it with Lexus Drivers to look up the Service History.
Good luck!

The steering rack is "meh" on these.
I've been lucky with only replacing the high pressure hardlines & $$ (rusty) and have done the P/S pump twice... ~170k on a 2004 & in the family since 2007.
The engine in the 2008 was far better than the pre-07. Honestly, I'd buy one as a beater/daily driver. Not much to go wrong on these.
