So came out of the local big box store to this today. All lights operational and no other visible damage. Researching the parts it appears I might be able to just replace the lens? 81560 appears to be the entire assembly for LH side for $350 list. However 81561d appears to be lens only for $285 list. Can anyone confirm you can just purchase the lens and not have to replace everything? Parts.Belllexusnorthscottdale.com is my source. Looks like about 25% off list for most items.

I needed a deep well 8 mm and 10 mm socket the remove the tail light assembly on my 2007.

 

Do not try to replace the shell, you will never get a perfect seal, anyway good luck!

 

On ebay, I'm seeing new aftermarket units for $70
And used OEM units for $70

 

Get a used one, even your local pick'n'pull may already have this in their yards!

I replaced my trunk inners, due to failed seals, for ~100$ delivered (2yrs ago) from a salvage yard.

 

Reference point. Dealer wants $601 parts and labor to replace. Yeah....dont think so. Waiting for insurance to estimate/offer based on photos. 99% sure this will be a DIY and hopefully pocket the difference to apply towards premium. Good news is it is comprehensive w/ $0 deductible
