Your problem sounds similar to this problem.
A short caused by corrosion or exposed wire could be the cause.

The quick and dirty way is to do the old "wiggle and jiggle" method. Trace the wire harness back from the ignition to the fuse box under the hood, wiggling it with your hand and watch what happens.
But first, I'd treat it like a Parasitic Draw and pull fuses, one at a time, to see which circuit remains active when the key is off.
Youtube has many videos on the parasitic draw test procedure.

Boom!
That's what I would do.

With keys pulled from ignition and waiting the standard time to expect dome lights to go off(make sure not set to stay on by manual buttons).

Then make a list of everything that continues to run.
Post up the list here in a clear and numbered format for context and clarity.

Hint: Can pull fuses one by one to see which fuse turn off which feature that continues to run.

With this new info we can hopefully find an intersection in the wiring and circuits to see what is crossed or failing to turn off.

Just some ideas.

Also, more info/details on what specific part of the ignition you had replaced would be helpful.

All electrical problems on our cars can be solved.

Will require competent multimeter skills, communication, and determination.
