Hi Dcmt,
I wish I could help more but I failed trying to get a new update on my Navigation, 2004 RX330.
Bought the Nav update dvd from ebay and either it was wrongy listed for my year or a bad clone because it wouldn't boot up and work at all, although the listing claimed "oem".

I think I read somewhere on here there was revision to our Nav units based on year but I am not knowledgeable on any more than that or what is needed for your Year/model so hopefully someone can help.
Because I failed to get updated maps is why I did a full Navigation delete and replaced my Nav unit with the standard non-Nav info display/controls.
Also yanked the whole radio system, Nav dvd ecu, amp, etc and put in a new Double Din and wired in a new back up camera from scratch- nothing oem or proprietary anymore- ripped all that crap out. lol

New radio has wayze app and some new radios have carplay but we never use it anyway, my wife pulls up google maps on here phone when we are driving. lol

I was thinking of removing the radio and install a new screen I there so I could use android auto but I saw that it was atleast 500$ for the whole thing. So I thought its cheaper to do the update. I also have a 2009 rx 350

2007 RX350 here and I think I'd like to update mine as well s it's way past time I learn to use it since Phones are not always so accurate when signal is lost.
Plus, I'm not Married a long time so no need to include distraction tactics such as Google on the Road for Co Pilot Education!

It would be nice if someone knew but if you do use your phone you could use Google maps and download the maps so even with no signal it will still be accurate.

So far, my Navigation Screen is working fine.
It aromatically displays most all my travels regardless of where/what I last left displayed be it Climate, Audio, Settings, etc... Right back it goes to Map Display when I am no longer adjusting the forementioned.

I am not sure what you mean by downloading the latest Google Maps?
Maybe that is an option I am not familiar with.

Goggle Maps is a travesty at least 50% the time, many agree.
Remote areas and no Cell coverage it just isn't all that 50% even!

I think this Thread is regarding Navigation update to Vehicle's Software.

You need to let us know what year of vehicle you are driving.
For example, the 2004 RX330's last update used data/maps from 2013.
