1. Do you know if when the assembly is removed from the car can you open it up to into the area between the lens and the shiny reflector? That way I could simply reattach the red dome.

2. Do you have any experience with aftermarket assemblies sold for about $70 new on ebay?

3. Better to buy new aftermarket or used OEM?

I'd go w/ a used oem vs aftermarket as you'd know it fits vs the fitment issues of aftermarket lighting housings.......

Used OEM off ebay, or go to a local pick'n'pull... I've seen a few starting to pop up over the last year or so near me (and its rare we get anything decent, in the US - there should be droves).

Nothing wrong with Aftermarket, but sometimes the lens quality is worse or the chrome may be a different shade...
