2005 RX330 Calipers & Brakes
Hello,
Need an advise please.
I have a 2005 RX330 and the vehicle has 157k miles. I had both front rotors & pads replaced a 1.5 years ago and have driven about 18k miles. When I took to the dealer for another unrelated issue (dashboard peeling off along the contours) the dealer said that the front calipers are locking. He recommended changing calipers, rotor & pads (front only) and quoted around $1500 — which is way too high. I told the dealer that I had changed the rotors & pads just 15k miles ago, dealer says pads uneven wear because of the caliper issue. Should I:
(1) get it changed per dealers recommendation or
(2) take to the original shop (American Tire Auto) where I changed the rotor & brakes and have them check the calipers and change it? I am guessing if I take to American Tire Auto it would be lesser.
Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Unless the rotors are warped, take it back to American Tire Auto and have them inspect their work and check + grease the slide pins, worse case scenario they could be seized and you'll need a new caliper bracket and slide pins. I've replaced many caliper brackets on Lexyota's that have seized which caused uneven braking/wear.
