What front struts to go with the oem springs
What struts are you running? I going to just replace the struts & run the oem springs. Seems like everyone offers KYB's.....I've ran KYB's gas adjust shocks on varies cars yrs ago...Trw? Sachs? Have I nothing to compare to, as these are worn out & I never driven a rx when it was new. <3 to hear (read) your all inputs, thoughts.........Many thanx

I went with KYB because I didn't find any reviews on other brands.
They are ok, tightened up the front end quite a bit and got rid of the "floaty" feeling.
Recommend staying away from the KYB strut mounts.
Junk IMO
My observatuons:
1) included bearing you will throw in the trash when you see how it's not really a bearing but a couple washers joined together and cheap when comparing to your oem bearings- new Lexus strut bearings do fit the KYB strut mounts, I'm running them on mine.
2) My old strut mounts were dead silent but since I already bought the KYB's I figured I'd use them- big mistake- my new KYB strut mounts click and pop every now & then when turning the wheel and sound cheap.
>> In hind sight I should've reused my old strut mounts since there was nothing wrong with them and put a new Lexus/Toyota bearing in them, new Febest bellow(ebay), and been done with it.
Am I impressed with the KYB's? They're ok, better than the wore out old ones but nothing else to really compare to.
That's my review, wanna hear what others did too...

Thanx Phil, I'm really leaning towards the KYB's. I've used K/W c/o's & Sach's struts Your correct on the strut mounts. IDK why kyb can't figure out how to engineer a decent strut mounts, its not just Toyota/Lexus either. I've used KYB's gas adjust shocks on varies cars yrs ago, great inexpensive shock that works great, '67 goat, '67 Fairlane gta, '69 Mach, '70 'runner, '73 Ranchero.

Ya'll are much stronger in knowledge than me on brakes & suspension and what brands are good and what's not.
Back in the day I was just a glorified parts changing monkey, I just installed what the service writers dropped off in my bay. lol
If they make something better than KYB but cost less than oem I am all ears, just in case my KYB's don't hold up.
Wanna hear what ya'll are running too...

I have TRWs on my 08 RX. They are supposedly rebranded Sachs and sure do ride like Sachs struts I have installed on other cars. They ride nice and supple even with my Eibach lowering springs, but in a non-floaty controlled manner - I like ‘em. I have the KYBs and H&R springs on my Highlander and while they’re great too, they are on the firmer side which is okay, but I feel like the Sachs/TRW offer almost equal handling without that hit in comfort.
We can’t get Bilstein B6 unless you swap to 2010-2013 Highlander struts and gain some clearance, but I have these on the 2014 RX. These are great on every car I’ve installed them on. I find they’re as firm as the KYBs, but they handle bigger bumps a lot better and can stiffen up even more than them if you demand it. These added quite a bit of comfort and improved the handling of the car, although with the added weight of that car - it wasn’t enough to match the comfort and control that my 08 RX and 02 Highlander have. I have tried B4s on my friend’s RAV4 and they felt similar to the B6, except slightly softer and less heavy duty.

I plan on going with coils on the RX eventually and moving that TRW setup to the Highlander. Fortune Auto 500 (US-made) and BC Racing are in my sights.

I want to try one of these SRT G/Cs. With their large size and much higher weight, I imagine they feel a lot more lumbering and heavy despite their beefed-up suspension.

After reading all kinds of reviews 'bbout kyb's......seems like its a love/hate for kyb's.......For sure run your oem strut mount/bearing.....I'll take the chance on kyb's, front struts w/ oem springs.....
