Default 2008 RX 350 windshield washer not spraying

My 08 RX350 will not spray to the windshield. The rear and headlight sprays work and I can hear the motor turn on when pulling back on the light arm The healsight sprays fine wit the lights on. I disconnected the hose to the windshield sprayers. at he passenger side of the hood..No water comes out of the hose that feeds the windshield when I activate the arm for the lights.. .But water will come out the headlight spray nozles.. I blew in the hose and you can hear air rushing into the tank. I assume its not clogged or kinked..

My question?
1. Are there separate motors for the headlight and windshield or is there a single motor which pumps to both healdlight and windshield?
2. Is there a T at the bump with a one way valve which could be blocked?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Will Long

Headlight washer uses a separate motor (much higher pressure). I would pull the motor out of the washer bottle see what's up with it.

Hopefully I can access it thru the wheel well. I'll check for voltage to the motor. . Are their separate fuses for each motor?

Thanks

You probably have some boogers in the lines or at the fluid pump motor.

Our wipers have two available options.
Wipers with "Auto feature" and wipers without the "Auto feature".
They both use the same 2 fuses and located under the dash on driver side(US) so get ready to contort your body and grab a flashlight so you can see up in the fusebox.

Below: "Wiper fuse" is for the wiper motor and "Washer fuse" is for the washer's fluid pump motor.

PS- plz let s know what you find and post up pics if you like to share your journey.

I did look again last night. The pump for the healdlights works with the lights on. But no water to the windshield. With the lights off there is no pump motor activation. So the fuse is good for the wiper and washer. Since there are two pumps one for the headlight and one for the windshield. It has to be a bad pump for the windshield.. I did blow through the tube and heard air entiering the resevoir for the washer fluid. Soit is not blocked. I went and ordered a replacement windshield pump to have on hand when I access it through the wheel well.

Thanks

Finished the repair . It was a defective windshield washer pump. There are 3 pumps on the 08 RX washer tank. One large motor on the front. Two smaller pumps on the rear side. The two pumps feed the windshield and rear window sprayers. The denso pump G1 feeds the rear and G3 which is closer to the tire feeds the windshield. These pumps look similar but have different wiring plugs. So they are not interchangeable.. Access is simple from a small plastic cover under the front of the car.No need to remove the wheel. Hope this helps someone with the same problem

Good job Wlong!

Always nice when people post the fix for the next guy who needs it.
