i bought a used 2007 rx350 that originally had the tow package [it's no longer used for towing], so i assume the alternator is the 130 amp. can i replace it with the original 100amp? i'm wondering about wiring connectors etc? any advice is appreciated.

From the few Denso reman alts I saw on amazon, the 130 amp alts are less than the 100 amps. That aside, the 130 amp alt keeps the value of the car higher than a 100.

My battery light is on and I changed the battery and it’s still on.How tough is it to change the alternator?I can’t even find it.

the alternator is on the top side of the engine on the passenger side. Right in front of the timing belt cover. Below it is the ax compressor.the same belt goes over the outside crankshaft harmonic balancer pulley the condenser and the alternator. The alternator is the most north component on thag belt line.

I just changed the alternator on my '08 RX350. On a difficulty scale of 0 to 5 it was a 4, fairly difficult. Saved $700 so it was worth it. If you are good w auto repairs, go for it, it you are focused on looks and bling, pass.
