Just got a Lexus RX350.... have lots of questions?
Just got the 2007 Lexus RX350 but didn't come with an owner's manual. After driving it for a few, I really like the car, especially the 28mpg on HWY. But I have some questions that I hope someone can answer...
1) How do you turn off "auto door unlock"? For example when I shift from D to P, doors automatically unlock which is unsafe since carjackers can open the door. I don't even know why this is necessary since the door can be opened from the locked position. Auto door lock from P to D is great though.
2) How can I turn off the beeping from the passenger seat to buckle up? I have wide shoulders so I like to rest my arm on the passenger armrest which triggers this annoying beeping. Even a gym bag or grocery bag left on the seat triggers this annoying non-stop beeping.
3) How can I update the map on the Navigation and does it cost a lot? I don't think it's been updated since 2007.
4) How can I close the sunroof if the battery dies?
5) How can I stop the auto locking? When I use my key remote to unlock, it will auto lock if I don't open the door within a few seconds. Is there a way to stop this so it remains unlocked?
6) Other than the driver's window, all 3 other windows stopped working. Won't go up or down. No, it's not the child safety lock. Would replacing the fuse work?
7) Can I use 87 or 89 octane or does it require 91? I heard some Lexus models can run on regular.
Any tips, suggestions or help would be appreciated!

You'll need the dealership or someone with Techstream software to make the custom settings you desire. I believe you can buy the latest Nav CD (2015 edition?) for your RX from ebay.

6) For all the windows to work, the child safety button should be in the UP position with the red ring showing.
Have you tried the other windows from their switches in the door. When the battery is disconnected and then re-connected, only the drivers window will work from the master switch in the driver's door. You have to cycle the other 3 windows down and up using the switch in that window's door before the master will operate them.
Since all the windows are powered by the same fuse, then the master window switch in the driver's door is probably the problem if the above things don't help. Try unplugging the 2 wire connectors on the bottom of the switch and plugging them back in. To remove the master switch, pry up on the rear end of the switch plate.
7) I've run 87 octane since I bought the car 7 years ago. No problems with running such as pinging. I've driven the mountains in the Rockies, 6K - 7K feet high, Drove up Pike's Peak 14K feet no problem.
