Default AFS lights in a Non-AFS car

My RX350 came with the awful halogen headlights. Despite new Philips bulbs they don’t put anywhere near enough light down the road, even getting absolutely destroyed by my Highlander’s halogens.

I picked up some used AFS headlights for a fantastic deal for both. Factory ballasts, new 35w 5000k HID bulbs incl and they’re way more clear and less faded than mine other than needing new mounting tabs, but those are easy to fix to fab some new plastic ones. I also got some H11 male end connectors to convert my car with a P&P harness.

Has anyone swapped over to these AFS lights without issue? I’m not interested in hooking up the system as that wouldn’t be worth the effort, but I just care about the assemblies themselves. I noticed you can easily turn the projector by hand without any force at all. My concern is they’ll be jiggling around as I go over bumps. If so, I’ll find a way to work around it but I’m wondering what you guys experienced putting these in. Thanks!

How did you get yours installed? My 09 desperately needs new headlights(ond ones are yellowed and cloudy). I already bought a set of new aes housings as well ballasts and new bulbs, but I know the wiring isn't the same.

They were for the most part plug & play, mine came with used OEM ballasts but the wires were cut off from the car-side, so I got some H11 connectors and pinned them to the exposed wires. It was a direct bolt-in affair after that. If it comes with the wiring, it will plug right in. I didn't need the HID housing covers (halogen ones fit fine) and I did not need to get HID wiring from an HID-equipped car.

If your ballast has the wiring included/intact, then you can just slide this piece through the halogen cover, and it'll clip in and should work perfectly. If not, you'll have to do what I did.
