I just opened both of the hidden storage areas under the cargo mat and neither would latch closed. After playing with them a little I saw the tab that pops out to latch them and got the left side working again, but the right is still unlatched. Looking under the plastic trim panel I see the button is stuck down, as if a spring has failed. I'd be happy to just pry out the latch catch but it's stuck inside like a shy turtle! Any ideas??

The latches get gummed up with crud & dirt & can easily be removed & cleaned with soap & hot water. If you can’t get a lid open but can ope the one next to it, inspect the release on the sidewall of the compartment to remove the latch. You’ll figure it out from there

Yeah, like I said, the "broken" one is not behaving like the other so I can't figure it out. Luckily it did not stand in the way of selling the car which I did yesterday, so this could me my final Clublexus thread! (I'm hoping to replace the RX with a used MB ML350)
