Can this be removed with a wrench or socket?
it's the upper trans line going to the radiator.i do not want to damage the radiator if it's not a bolt in port..
Jim, I don't think that is the radiator. I have the hybrid , and it may be different, but to me that looks like condenser and those lines look like transmission fluid lines. I'm not sure if they needed to be disconnected.
They are transmission cooler lines and mine has a small Crack at the end which caused a leak and now I need the raplacemant line in the picture.i am having a very difficult time finding the line as it was discontinued unless u buy the entire radiator then they supposedly come with it.
Are the lines under allot of pressure?if so will your idea handle it ?
The idea of getting a longer hose? Yes, it will. I don't know the actual pressure, less than 50psi, but you have to use hoses specified for ATF/oil. As Felix said, you can also bypass the radiator ATF connections by adding an external cooler but this is not recommended in cold climate areas because the radiator is also used to warm up the ATF after startup.
So, is that line welded to the radiator? If your radiator has over 150K, I would just replace it as preventive maintenance. I replace all mine by 200K, along with the water pump, thermostat and hoses, if they haven’t been done by then.
I saw a picture of the radiator and the metal line looks replaceable. Thus, you can go remove one from a car at a wrecking yard. I still vote for a new radiator if yours has high miles. Denso, CST, and TYC make good quality aftermarket radiators. I have installed each of those in my vehicles and none have cooling issues.

Ditto^^^^^ I'd replace the radiator as well. I sure wouldn't want coolant mixing w/ the trans fluid.
