Default Cover Next To Engine

I have a 2009 RX350 and after seeing several pictures of the engines I have noticed that there was a black cover on the right side, (passenger side), of the engine compartment in some of the pictures. Mine seems to be missing. So, my question is, did all models of the RX350 have this cover?

I think so, every 2004-2009 RX I have seen has a variant of it. 2004-2006 330, 2007-2009 350 and 2006-2008 RX400h all have their own which all vary a little, but I’m not sure if they’re interchangeable.

I took mine off and forever relegated it to the garage as it blocks you from working on the car properly. Even my “bottom of the barrel” base model came with one.

Thanks. I inherited a 2009 RX350 and the cover is missing. I know it's just a cover but I want to replace it so I will just look for one at Pull-a-Part.

That’s your best bet, mine was held in by 2 clips and a 10mm bolt M6x1.0 so I’d grab the hardware too. I think 04-09 one might be interchangeable but the 400h one is drastically different

Thanks, I did see a bracket on mine coming from the firewall and figured that is where it would bolt to.

Hi, had the same when I bought and never understood why,,, always have to remove, can't see power steering oil and so what... it's USELESS, just another cover to get you back to dealer cause you don't understand and see anything, perfect to keep all mysterious to neophytes !
Today's cars are even worse: all is coverd in entire.

Note that if you want it anyway, I STILL HAVE MINE and in good condition, I'm in Québec around Montreal and don't know if worth and how much to ship..

2010-2015 was the worst, you can’t access anything!

2016-2022, a little better

They got rid of it in 2023!

If anyone wants my engine cover, they can have it too. I’m sure I’ll never be putting it back on the car.

I removed mine and i think i lost it during one of my moves. I totally forgot there was one on that side. I wish it was easier to remove like the engine cover, i would have just left it on.

I just left on the basic engine cover on, as it keeps the debris off the intake.....as well as looks cleaner....

Yeah, I understand about having to remove a cover in order to get to what is under the cover being somewhat of an inconvenience. I'm not all tr hat concerned with getting the side cover, if I see one at Pull-a-Part, I'll snag it for a couple of bucks.
