Default Rx450h cd player facelift swap

Hello, I've just bought a 2010 RX450h. The CD player unit is a little worn, I've read that the one in mine has a 6 CD changer and Hard Drive, but as I plan to upgrade the screen to an Android and don't plan on using CD's I was wondering if I could swap the CD unit over to the facelift version? I've attached photos of the differences, the photo isn't my unit just a photo from online but it's the same model. Thank you, Michael

Welcome to CL.
The newer facelift version has a different wiring harness so none of the plugs would be the same and you would not be able to connect it and get it to work. Compare the 2 and note how different the buttons are on each face.
Look, this is a 13 year old vehicle, it is going to show some wear, if everything works, get it detailed, clean it up as best you can and enjoy the ride.
I would be more concerned that all the mechanical maintenance is done to prevent future breakdowns.

I did some searching on this site for older threads about folks who have installed aftermarket infotainment screens etc. They are a lot of work to install and get them to actually work. The price is not cheap. See the links below.

It would be nice if you can confirm but guessing from the face-plates both are Lexus units.

Since the second picture shows less buttons for Radio etc the function are most likely in the Nav unit/display.

I would urge you to stay with what you have and see if Android can be interfaced with the unit on your vehicle. If you go down the road of mixing things you will have a harder time mixing and matching.

Ahh thank you so much for the detailed response, I had seen they were different connection ports but tried to ignore and hope there was still a chance 😂 it’s no major problem it was just whilst I was taking apart the dash anyway I thought now would be the easiest time! I’ve just bought the car and looking to fix all the little things to make it nice for the future so I’ll be posting a few more times, hope to hear from you again 😄 the aftermarket device I’m hoping to buy and install is:
£607.90 14% Off | For Lexus RX 270 350 450 2009-2014 Car Smart Multimedia Video Player Radio GPS 4G Navigation CarPlay 8+64G Support Right Rudder

I installed the Teyes CC3 in my 2010 RX350 recently. Biggest issue with this unit is that not all RX's are compatible, it'll depend on what type of NAV/software the vehicle is running. I ordered through Alibaba and they confirmed my exact setup before sending over the invoice to pay for the unit. I'd hope that the NaviHua guys confirm your exact vehicle config and can confirm if everything works like HVAC being a big the #1 feature that needs to work correctly else your adjusting those settings blindly.

Could you let me know how you get on with the installation and any problems you encounter, hopefully none!

I showed photos of my screen system and car functions as well as stating the model and year, so it's just a case of waiting now haha
