we have a third generation 2013 and it has never needed one single repair. Very impressive car, and the routine maintenance is inexpensive (at a non Lexus dealer of course).

What generation/year (2004 - 2015) is the most problem free? 1st. gen was fun; Transmission / Coils / Cat. converter, struts... I realize newer is usually better, but I'd like to keep it under $9k.
What say the "Hive-mind"? I know trucks better than I know these cars, your experience/advice is appreciated.
Thank You!
I owned a 2010 RX350 AWD and a current 2015 Rx350 AWD. Both has been pretty reliable with high mileage(over 150k miles). The brakes are the only parts that needed replacing so far on my 2015. The 2010 needed a rear lift gate motor replacement and brakes. The rest was just fluid and filter changes besides general maintenance items like tires.

My vote goes to the 2013-2015 models as the most reliable since those model years got the upgrade oil cooler and VVT hoses; as well as the upgraded VVT gears.
