we have a third generation 2013 and it has never needed one single repair. Very impressive car, and the routine maintenance is inexpensive (at a non Lexus dealer of course).

Need to replace daughters 1st. gen RX,
What generation/year (2004 - 2015) is the most problem free? 1st. gen was fun; Transmission / Coils / Cat. converter, struts... I realize newer is usually better, but I'd like to keep it under $9k.
What say the "Hive-mind"? I know trucks better than I know these cars, your experience/advice is appreciated.

My vote goes to the 2013-2015 models as the most reliable since those model years got the upgrade oil cooler and VVT hoses; as well as the upgraded VVT gears.
