Default Power Steering Failure

Everything was fine then first thing in morning Power Steering Failure light came on when starting and no power steering at all!! After testing mechanic determine is was power steering computer module that burned out...we had that replaced, everything worked fine but next day, same problem... He thinks the power steering motor could be causing the modual to "burn" out. If sane thing happen again he thinks the motor will need to be replaced...
any thoughts?? Thanks 2010 350rx

Since you stated any thoughts ....
I wish the shop had done better diagnostic. Every time anything fails, one should ask the question "why". The latest diagnostic is just one of the possibilities, but it ended up consuming a new module.
There are other possibilities, such as the motor was bad and the module was replaced unnecessarily. The old module may still be good.
There is a wiring/ground issue which is still not resolved.

Another example of why the forum should close topics after a six month non-response period.
