Coolant reservoir cap and tubing concern , rx350 2015

Hello , the other end of the tubing of the coolant reservoir cap, has nothing connected. Is this normal ?

can any one please confirm ?

Yes, unfortunately that is indeed normal. A poor design however because it is never a good idea to be dumping excess / expanded coolant on the ground.

Coolant is not dumped on the ground unless there is a problem with the cooling system.

That tube is called the vent tube and it is supposed to let out the excess drip to ground. See if you find a holding clamp structure to snap the pipe in.

Not true, it is to let air in and out. If it is letting coolant in and out then it has been overfilled.
