Default Valvoline Max Life ATF in rx350?

I bought a bottle of maxlife atf. When looking at it online, it listed “ws” on the bottle. Upon picking up the bottle in question, it does not list WS anywhere. The part number on the bottle is the same as the valvoline website.

https://www.valvolineglobal.com/en/maxlife-multi-vehicle-atf/

Anyone know if this is ok to use?

Read the datasheet WS is listed. I think the fluid is average at best but no one listens and buys it anyway.

No such animal as "universal ATF" that supposedly works in everything, including that Valvoline stuff. Stick with Toyota WS (it is conventional) or Idemitsu TLS-LV (it is synthetic). These Aisin transmissions are mediocre at best and very sensitive to what fluid you pour into them. Much better to be safe rather than sorry.

OEM fluid doesn't cost much more either; the price difference is a cup of coffee or two over the span of a couple of years.

The Valvoline Max Life works well in Toyota transmissions.

I have used the fluid in my son's 2007 Highlander V6 AWD with over 240k miles and the transmission shift as smooth as the newer cars I drive. I also used the Valvoline MaxLife fluid in my 2015 Lexus RX350 AWD with over 170k miles and it cured a slight hesitation(stutter) at around 20mph that my transmission had.

I can not say how well the fluid work for every brand of car listed, but it does work perfectly in Toyota transmissions with high mileage. It does have seal conditioners and anti-slip additives to account for worn clutches and older transmission internals seals.

Valvoline does not claim it works in all applications, neither do any other makers of multi use ATFs.

Better do some homework for your particular year of transmission , check w Valvoline first. I would be very leery of putting in anything but Toyota transmission fluid in their trannys.... Talk w a Toyota expert. Unless Valvoline specifically indicates its fluid is 100% compatible, I would not chance it....

A Toyota tech doesn't know much of anything about automatic transmissions, they don't work on them outside of replacing fluid. If you really want to know talk to a tech that rebuilds transmissions.

The highest rated technical position as a Toyota repair technician is Master Diagnostic Technician. They comprise the top 5% of Toyota Guild of Technicians. They work directly with engineers from the Toyota factories and submit product reports to Toyota to earn National Recognition and Prizes.

This guy is a shop owner and is fully capable of rebuilding Toyota/Lexus engines and transsissions.
