Hello, does anyone know how the headlights work on the 2012 RX350? Currently when I turn on the high beams manually, visually from the outside, only the low beam lights appear to be shining. I heard that the high beams in my car, 2012 RX 350, share the same bulb with the DRLs. Meaning that the light next to the low beams, should be shining bright as well when I turn on the high beams. Anyone know if this is correct? Currently one of my bulbs are out so I'm in the process of replacing the HID low beams in my car. However, I do want to know if when the high beams are flicked on, that both of the front lights are supposed to shine.
Thank you in advance for the help.

if your car doesn't have LED strip at the bottom of headlight, then you have old version of headlight. There's shutter inside the lense part of headlight, it opens when you turn on high beam and closes upper half of the light beam when you switch to low.
That big reflector light is only for DRL. 2013 and higher has different light - lense for the low beam, reflector for high and DRL LED strip at the bottom of headlight.

You say you have a 2012 RX with HIDs.
That means you have Bi-Xenon headlights - the same HID bulb is used for low beam and high beam. The DRL is a separate halogen bulb and does not come on when the low beam or high beam is on.
If you don’t have HIDs then the setup is completely different. If you don’t have HIDs then the DRL and the high beam use the same halogen bulb. The low beam uses its own standalone halogen bulb. And BOTH will be on when high beam is selected.
This description applies to factory setups not aftermarket for 2010-2012 North American RX350.
