Need sources for roof rails
Like many, our RX450h came from factory minus roof rails. I'd like to put a cartop carrier on it (Thule, Yakima, etc.) and don't like the vinyl "bags" that strap on the roof directly. Dealer wants $$$ for rails so that's a nonstarter. Can't seem to find used. Any suggestions?

Every RX I have seen has the roof side rails. Are you missing the side rails? Or, are you looking for the cross bars that attach to them to hold your stuff? What year is your RX?
If missing the side rails it will be expensive to attach some as the roof headliner will have to be removed and replaced. It is not something you are likely to find used.
I would talk to a couple of independent body shops to get quotes about getting and installing them on your RX.
I think there may be some roof carriers that do not need these rails. Maybe check out the Yakima or Thule web sites.
There are many aftermarket sources for the cross rails bars.

They are the side rails, not crossbars. I looked and there are some aftermarket options but just wondering if I missed a source. read somewhere they were intentionally left of the standard Hybrid model for fuel efficiency reasons.

Junkyard? I got mine used off Facebook from someone who deleted their rack. Both 2010-2012 and 2013-2015 facelift have the same rails. You'll need the rails themselves plus the different hardware they have vs the cars that just have the "delete kit" installed (some rx450h and F-sport models).

Factory kit that comes with the plates, brackets and hardware required to delete the roof rack from the car. You could sell it to someone else if you find a roof rack, or keep it as a spare.

My 2011 450H FWD came with no rails. Other than the rails [front to back] I purchased the slats [side to side] locally on craigslist. Suspect the awd premium package comes with them.
I purchased my set through a salvage yard.
Process is fairly simple. After the process I am left with 4 cover and some bolts [these had to come off to attach the rails]. So a delete will require these 4 covers.

PS: Check if your attachment can go directly on the rails for 3rd gen RX, and if yes, you can skip on the slats.

Call Rancho Lexus Recycling and maybe they will have some used rails. Be sure to request any hardware that holds them to the roof. http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/

It's a block-off plate for when you remove the side roof rails that fill in the gap and preserve the threads.
Edit: There's a thread about it here

It's too bad OP isn't from the Tri-State or I'd consider selling mine. Removing them makes it easier to clean the car and looks more sleek imo.
