Default Hatch question

I have a RX 450H and I can never seem to figure out why I sometimes cannot get my hatch open. There are 3 ways to open it (as far as I know). (A) Manual button on hatch, (B) Button on dash and (C) FOB. Sometimes, depending on if the vehicle is running or not, the only way I can get it to open is with the FOB. The other 2 ways don't work. I've tried different scenarios and can't figure out how to open it with option A or B. I have to use option C. I'm assuming it is user ignorance, which is why I turn to the experts here.
Any advice appreciated.

Some features are model specific and also on settings [some settings are not available on all model years].

I would suggest the best start point will be the owners manual. Second would be the use of search feature. If you still want members to give you their best understanding, please list the model year.

I also infer you are talking about Auto Lift and Auto Close features.

Salim

PS: At times what you wish for can end up as a source of trouble ... there are stories about hatch lift open and hit the person on face and even garage-doorway.

Sorry, I meant to include the year which is 2015 and yes the auto lift/close feature.

Dealing with hatch mysteries can be tricky. Firstly, check if there's a setting in your car's menu that might affect this. Sometimes, systems are programmed to behave differently depending on whether the car is running or not.
