Default mechanically "whirring sound" after car shutoff

Have a 2013 RX450h. Noticed about 1 8 months ago that there is (Intermittently) a "whirring sound" that can be heard when the engine idle stops and sometimes even after car is shut off. Hard to describe but it sounds like what you hear when a CD is changing, or maybe its a fan that's still running? It seems to emanate from where the CD player is located.

Any thoughts?

Vapors? What kind of vapors? It's a mechanical sound that lingers for some time, not a few seconds

Fuel. It can happen up to 5 hours after the car was turned off and can last for several minutes.

These sounds are usually created by the HVAC servo motors continuing to "hunt" for the proper position for the blend doors. Very common, and not typically an issue to worry about. Some folks go into the plastic dash vents where the servo motors are usually located and attempt to lubricate them. But they can be difficult to access depending upon the make and model of the vehicle. You do not want to break any of the plastic vent tabs or pivot points and then find yourself unable to put the components back together again.

Yeah...it falls in the category of "annoying but not worthy of the effort or risk of making worse" category
