Owners Manual
The owners manual pages attached to this post regarding the warning lights do not appear to show an oil pressure warning light on the 2010 model.

So I change my oil every 5000 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic and add Liqui moly ceratec or mos 2 every 10-20k miles to the oil. Is this enough to have protected the bearings during the low oil period? Only time will tell I guess. Will update this forum if my engine goes or if I decide to pull the pan but hopefully I’m okay on this one.

Curious what people have paid to have this repaired at a dealer or mechanic? I am not that mechanically inclined nor have the time.
My 2010 has been serviced at the local toyota dealer, and just crossed 200k miles. They have not mentioned a thing about it. I am also debating whether i want to spend significant amounts of money on a car nearing its end of life with us.

First check if it has been replaced with the metal lines. If not then the Toyota dealer or any independent foreign car or Japanese car shop can replace this. It is not difficult. The part is under $100 and the labor should be under 2 hours. I think it took me an hour to replace mine while laying on my garage floor. Call for a few estimates. I am sure the Toyota dealer has replaced a bunch of these as many Toyota models such as the Highlander and Sienna had the same engine and same crappy rubber oil lines.

I too have a 2010 RX and needed to exchange the original rubber cooling line hose with the metal version. I bought the Toyota replacement part online for about $75 and had the independent shop I have my car serviced at put it on for about $125ish. So, approx $200-$225 total. This was about 3 years ago.

Paid $400 total to have it done. Many people said $250-300 years ago, for 2024 not a bad price imo. Doing a 1500 mile oil change since incident happened this week to check for glitter in the oil or metal in the filter. Otherwise car drives just fine.

In hindsight is 20/20. With all the craziness of life it wasn’t a priority. Posting this to warn others to just get it done with their next service.

IMO, that much effectively communicates the problem than:
I can practically hear my wife coming home and asking "why is my car showing a genie's lamp". Followed by "I didn't know what it was, so I just kept driving".

Fwiw, my replacement was something like $600 all in from my local rip-off Toyota dealer. That include a few clips to hold in the splash shield, at 300% of list price - #52161-02020 at $9 each. I just bought 100 of them on Amazon for $9. They could take me the day I called, Lexus was 10 days out.
