Default Traction control randomly engaging?

I have a 2015 rx 350 with 160k miles. A problem I have experienced is at random times, always driving on the interstate the traction control engages and the car feels like breaks are applied, can’t accelerate, and the dashboard lights come on. Specifically the check engine, red steering wheel/!, red battery, trac, and vsc comes on. The only way to correct is to stop the vehicle, pull over, turn off and turn back on. I’ve taken it in to the shop but they told me unless it’s doing it when I bring it in, not much they can do. I’ve had the car for 6 mos and it’s done this approx 5 times. I’m search for any answers or experience with this issue. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

imho, the dash lights that you mentions are related to engine shutdown. If there were any run condition errors, they would be stored in the computer. [another stage is pending]

Next time it happens, before you shutdown and start, check the rpm.

I would caution you about driving in this state as the vehicle is not safe for occupants and others.

In any case please examine the wiring harness and the wires in the driver side A pillar. Also check for rust marks around the fuse box [driver side left knee].

I hope your vehicle is not from a flood prone area or previously parked outside providing a home for critters.

Sorry for not stating any positive messages.

First things first -- read the OBDII codes.

the mechanic did say there was code stating communications error. Not sure what that meant?

This is very interesting. You already have the smoking gun. Comm [communication] port issue. All terminations of comm line need to be locked at [wiggle tested]. The search can be narrowed down if work was done in a certain area.
Did any one try to steal the vehicle?
evidence of critters under the hood.
You can also narrow down if there is info on which [one or many] module is not communicating.

Update - my mechanic still can’t find the specific issue. Confident it has been narrowed down to ABS sensor, YAW sensor, or Steering Wheel Angle sensor. He has been able to get the car to act up but no codes are stored. The only other item that has occurred is one time the speedometer started to jump around and ABS lights came on at start up. Vehicle could drive and once it was turned off, it stopped and hasn’t happened since. Any addl input would be helpful.

It is very easy to replace or remove and clean the front ABS sensors. They do get dirty with age and mileage. I did that on my HS250h and it helped with some brake noise from the front.
