I've got a pretty bad creak and rattle coming from my C pillar. Took it to a body shop who chased it down but it looks like they just sealed up the plastic trim under the hatch. They did notice the pillar was drilled open near the top - this was presumably done years ago to repair hail dents. I had my mechanic inspect the trailing arms and suspension. They also said all was fine, noise coming from C pillar.
At this point I've got a diagnosis but no solution with 4 hours of shop labor spent total. I bought some trim removing tools and started prying away at the pieces both under the hatch and on the interior. So far I see no culprit but haven't gotten very far.
Is there any trim removal documentation that someone can point me to? Anyone else have the sound and a solution? My gut tells me that this is unusual and caused by hail repair but it didn't start up until the last year or so. I thought it was related to some bumper damage at L corner but that has been ruled out.

I’ve pulled trim and panels. Haven’t found a culprit yet.
