Default Buying advice. 2012 RX 350 55k miles. Seller is asking for $17,800

Hi All,
As title says planning to buy a 2012 Lexus RX 350 with 55k miles. Seller is asking for $17,800. Do you think it's a decent price?.

All depends upon the service history. Have you checked on it? First things first....

Verified the carfax report and it looks clean. Not seen much oil change reports and only thing I have seen repaired is Steering angle sensor replaced. Last oil change I have seen is around 30k miles. Could it be due to DIY?. Better ask for maintenance records.

With some basic options and Clean condition, Edmunds say $18,300 for a private party sale. Autotrader shows similar vehicles, under 60K miles, at $15-22K. I'd certainly get maintenance details, and get a pre-purchase inspection on a 12-year old vehicle, but the price doesn't seem unreasonable.

Create an account at the Lexus Drivers Site via this link, enter the VIN and you can see the dealer service history which is more detailed than CarFax. It can be cranky and may need a few attempts to work.

Spot on. Did this with my 2008 and it took several attempts but I got in. Really nice tool to use for older cars.
