Default Gear shifting

Upon acceleration from 1st to 2nd car jerks down, then picks up Speed as accelerate. Any idea what this can be. 2012 rx350 awd 194k miles. Also did a transmission refill at 192k problem is only getting worse.

You will probably soon need to replace the transmission or trade it in now while it still runs. It was too far gone when you did the drain and fill.
With that many miles I would lean toward getting rid of the vehicle ASAP. Or do you want to invest a couple of thousand dollars to put a used transmission into a vehicle with almost 200,000 miles? What is the condition of the rest of the vehicle? How long have you had it?

Well it could be that the fluid level is not correct and that you may need to try some ATF fluid with an anti-slip agent like Valvoline Max Life high mileage transmission fluid.

However, Max Life fluid can only help a worn transmission only so much and may not help in your situation if the transmission has an internal mechanical issue that needs a proper repair.

Thinking further about this with regard to the post above, you may have low transmission fluid. Add about 8 ounces of ATF and see if the transmission shifts any better.

You could try a bottle of Lubegard instead of adding pure ATF as it has additives that may help.

Will try this out before trying to rebuild to grab a new trans. The car has been very loyal. And already put a lot of money into it over the past years just maintaining it. I’d take it off her hands and put the extra work into it knowing I’d have another car with no note. It’s my wife car now so of course she wants to get a newer model year.
