90% of the
aftermarket, are made there.
Akebono mfg's in Mexico.
Lexus uses "Made in Japan" rotors..
I paid $206 delivered for two rear rotors on a 2019 RX350 directly from Lexus.

I have no issue with my made in China Power Stop brakes; probably no worst than Mexican made brake products or U.S made brake products. The Power Stop products are great performing brake parts; which is what matters to me. Not the country of origin.
You know the made in Japan label on the box is a generic marking for Toyota part boxes; the part supplier that shipped the brakes to Toyota/Lexus may also have produced the brake parts in China as well before shipping the products to the Toyota/Lexus factory.
Look up who supplies the brake parts to Lexus and you may be surprised on the factory origin of where the brake parts are actually made..
Akebono claims to make its aftermarket brake pads in the U.S.

^^ This. More and more well-respected companies are having their components assembled in China, but the engineering and materials in those products are U.S., Japanese, German, etc. I wish it was not that way, but favorable labor economics has driven that process more and more during the past 20 years or so. Not all "Made in China" parts are junk. It is up to each consumer to do the appropriate research and figure out which products are worth purchasing and which products should be avoided as much as possible.
My brand-new Weber charcoal grill was made in Mexico. But I know from experience that Weber is a fantastic charcoal grill brand and with proper care, this will probably be the last charcoal grill I will ever need.

I just checked the 2015 RX350 service manual and the stock OEM front pads are Advics PV565H pads and the rear OEM pads are PA561; which I assume are made by Advics as well. The brake rotor part(product) number is not listed, however I assume that they are made by Advics also.

I put powerstop slotted and drilled rotors on my 2014 att 55,000 but stayed with OEM pads because they don’t dust. Much better brakes and still have good pads at 97,000miles. No noise at all.

Pole Position
Is Akebono the OEM for 2013 rx350 break pads? I've read you should buy OEM, so I purchased Centric premium rotors. I'm looking for a high quality break pad with low dust and ultra quiet. I read some amazon reviews that the Akebono pads are noisy. Any recommendation on a quality break pad? Please advise. Thanks!

Lexus rotors are made in Japan.
The casting of metal is more complicated than many assume.
If you want rotors that a true, then buy Japanese made.
I paid $206 delivered for two rear rotors from Lexus for a 2019 RX350.
Brake Pads are 90% marketing hype.
Stick with Toy/Lex pads.

Post the information please.
Note: Advics make the Toyota/Lexus brake pads for sure. Therefore, I would assume Advics make the matching brake rotors as well. Advics uses China based factories to produce the after-market brake pads; so most likely the OEM pads are made in the same factory as well.
Unless, you think Advics have a special Japan factory that make only Lexus brakes rotors and pads. Keep dreaming.
