China's metallurgy industry is nothing vs the Japanese quality.

$206 delv for two rear, OEM, Lexus bought, rotors.

"Premium" aftermarket are at those prices and higher.
Well Advics is a Japan company and it uses China factories to make its aftermarket line of brake parts. Advics also supply Lexus with OEM brakes parts. So, it may be more about using a good factory that can make a quality product in any location as long as it meet the level of quality desired by Advics. The factory can be in Japan or maybe in China.

Here is what I paid for top quality brakes and brake fluid. No need to spend twice as much money for OEM brake replacements which may be made in China as well.

Now I am dropping this subject so believe what you want about where the Lexus brake rotors are made or not made.

I went with powerstop slotted and drilled rotors when the Lexus dealer wanted to turn the stock rotors at 55,000 miles. I stayed with the stock OEM pads because they did not dust at all. The brakes are fantastic and at 97,000 miles still have more than half of the original thickness. The dealer even allowed me to bring the rotors and put them on with the new pads. The current rotors do not show wear and I expect the brakes to last at least another 30,000.

"MADE in JAPAN"

Do you know otherwise?

Chinese metallurgy is garbage.

Look at all of the Chinese cars with broken suspension components.

Chinese iron is garbage.

FWIW, I have OEM (Advics) front rotors on my RX and aftermarket Advics rotors on the back. The fronts are made in Japan, the rears in China. Both appear to have the same markings and seem to be of the same quality as well as doing a fantastic job of wearing evenly and resisting rust over the years. I will avoid cheap China off-brand parts, but if it's from a reputable MFR i.e. Advics, who is keeping quality control under check, there should be no issues.

Thank you.

The thread was getting a little racist for a moment. I understand that someone is concern about where a part is made, but that member do not have label every factory in a certain region as poor quality or bad at manufacturing a product. China like any other nation including Japan can made some great products in its factories as well make some poor quality products. The country of origin do not automatically make a product better or worst.

No one will change GoBose's opinion so why waste time arguing with him?

As several of us have previously stated, stick with well-known, well-respected brake components and you will be just fine.
