as for that same picture...i imagine the lock/unlock button isnt intuitive to press....

i also want to know in that picture (the rest of th entire door panel), if its a great sheet of leather or hard plastic vinyl

im also guessing the button you think is the manual override is actually the fold down tilt feature
The LS does indeed have an Auto/Manual folding switch.

Here's the door of my LS460L, & not the entire door is covered with leather.
The panel beneath the upper wood trim surrounding the door handle and the speaker is vinyl, & the lower part of the door most of which is not shown in the picture is also vinyl. Only the middle portion with the stitchings is real leather.

Here's the door of the most expensive Lexus SUV, the LX570, I think it has less leather on the door than the LS, only the armrest/doorhandle part with the stitchings is leather I think ...

its leather, at least in our LC200, fully optioned... it is just that it is not stiched...

Just like leather on my GS350 - it definetly does not look as good as the leather on that LS which looks like you could eat it :-)

p.s. there is no way that 2010 RX will have more leather than GS... but at the same time, its interior is WAY beyond current RX, and a lot of parts are taken from GS (seats, shifter...)

It does need more wood. I mean, if you take out the wood steering wheel, there isn't much wood.

It has the same amount of wood as the current gen RX though. There is wood available on the center console, steering wheel, on all 4 door panels, and also on the rear armrest.

actually, there is considerably less wood than the current one. notice how on the four doors on the 3rd gen, there is only wood on the window controls plates. and notice how on the 2nd gen, it was all along the door.

Let me be more precise; it has roughly the same amount of wood as the current RX. Considerably less, hardly.

Less wood is good, I hate wood...

If that metallic-finish panel on the center stack can be replaced by an aluminum piece then it'll be awesome.

Too many practical problems putting real aluminum there. It would get really hot to the touch in the summer, and feel ice cold in the winter. There would also be risk of a lot of glare on sunny days.

I can't wait to see if anyone complains about the aluminum in the new TL interior during really cold winter days and during really hot summer months.

This truck is lacking.......everywhere for me. Everytime I open up this thread I think it will somehow start to look better, but it only gets worse.
