Let us check some equipment:
New Standard Equipment

- only on LS before? sweet.
Double Wishbone Rear Suspension
- sporty....
6-Speed Automatic Transmission
Sequential Shift Mode
- can we get paddles behind the steering sheel please?
Active Torque Control 4WD System
- AWESOME. It works so well on Rav4, and I am sure it will work even
better on RX. And saves gas too.
Remote Release for Folding Rear Seatbacks
-obviously nice
Deleted Standard Equipment
Driver Foldable Armrest
Front Passenger Foldable Armrest
- means centre armrest is now bigger, like in GS.
New Stuff
Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps
Automatic High Beam Feature
- awesome, i would love that auto high beams in europe...
Auto-dimming Rearview Mirror with Integrated Backup Camera
- do we still get back camera in nav screen if we have nav?
Wallet-Size Card Key
- sweet
12-Speaker Premium Audio System
USB Audio Input
15-Speaker Mark Levinson Audio System
Voice-activated HDD Navigation System
XM Real-Time Traffic Capability
- what else is left to say? State of the art, USB + HDD + Bluetooth, none could complain anymore and I can retire my iphone...
Head-Up Display
- nobody noticed this one? It has be roumored in new Prius and seems
more new Toyota/Lexus vehicles will be getting one...
Driver Seat Variable Cushion Length Adjustment
Front Passenger Seat Variable Cushion Length Adjustment
- finally!
Wide-View Side Monitor System
- sweet, tech package will be quite techy...
Heated & Ventilated Front Seats
- expected, and I cant live without ventilated seats anymore.
I wonder if it will also get new pre-crash system with radar based cruise control, and line keep assist system...

it definately wont get lane keep assist. i mean they have that in europe for the LS and they dont have it here for their reasons.
radar cruise was always available even now on the RX since 2004. its just a very very rare and pricey item.
i also forgot to mention when i posed the specs!! that the document is for canadian RX models. which might explain why fabric seats are standard (like the IS250 in canada). but im sure the two vehicles will be very similar

if they raise the entire center area between the seats has like passenger cars, then there would be no need for the armrests.
again, if the rumors about a joystick type thing for the navigation holds true, then they will indeed need to do that so people can rest their hands on the controller

Not sure how accurate that equipment list is, some things puzzle me.
Double wishbone rear suspension sounds great, I wonder if that confirms a new platform for the RX, or if it's still Camry-based. Head-up display also sounds really cool, as does the 19" + sport suspension.
However, temporary spare tire ... on an SUV!? Toyota usually is more generous than most automakers when it comes to spare tires. I think most, if not all Toyota SUVs have full-size spares.
I guess we will see in a few months what the actual equipment list is.

I just checked out that site where the equipment lists came from....
A damn shame if true. Thats a lot of weight to add to a vehicle whos dimensions have not increased that much if at all.
Curb Weight has increased a whopping 640lbs to 4,510lbs.

I hope that's a typo! 640 lbs. is a huge weight gain. If I recall correctly, the current AWD weighs a little over 4,000 lbs.
