Dang, I've been to LA Auto Shows my whole life and the one I have to miss is the best one yet, it seems like!

I like the idea of a "sport tuned" double wishbone suspension. If this thing has better steering feedback and a more composed suspension than the current gen, I may look into this vehicle for sure in 09..

If in that you meant after the ISX50C disaster then I agree with you.

However, if in that you meant after the L-Finesse design then I disagree. I think the L-Finesse cars look much more elegent, sophisticated and sportier than the pre-L-Finesse models.

based on the spy shots, there's more L-finesse in a mazda suv than in the RX

The navigation will be totally different, as well. So I hear, at least. 10 or 11 inch screen, center-console mounted touch pad controls with tactile feedbck, supposedly very awesome.

At the very least, hopefully they make a full-size spare an option.

Now I'm really suspicious of this information. I call BS on that curb weight number. That will be really dissapointing if it's true.

Right, because you can really see the styling on those cardboard-covered prototypes .

Wait until you see the production car before making judgements. Judging the car based on spyshots is silly.

By the way, since this is Canadian info, I am betting this is an AWD car, which would mean on a FWD, the curb weight should be about 300 pounds lighter.

Even if that is the case, that is still a curb weight increase of roughly 400lbs, a huge amout.

Cars always increase in weight for each new model. It's pretty much clockwork. New safety features, new luxury features, just new stuff. It all weighs more. I bet the shift from standard 17" wheels to 18" wheels added 20-30 pounds. It's just all the little stuff. Maybe the new nav system adds another 6-10 pounds. It all adds up quick.

As long as acceleration and gas mileage stay the same or increase a tiny bit, who cares? It's not as if this is a road-hugging sport sedan.

Engine should be the same, and transmission I believe is same weight or lighter than the 5 speed. Changes to the platform or equipment is not enough to explain a 400lb increase in curb weight. Only reasonable thing that would explain it would be a sizable increase in dimensions.

I agree though that as long as engine, acceleration, as well as ride and handling all improve, then it should be fine. If these were to stay the same though it would be dissapointing.
