Default 2010 Lexus RX - Worth the Premium?

Now I can get the 2009 Lexus RX 350 AWD w/ Mark Levinson + NAV for 40K

When the 2010 Lexus comes out it will probably be 40K base + 6K package
Is it worth the 6K difference for a remodeled interior and exterior plus some upgraded suspension + engine?

I would recommend the RX450h.

And it's definitely worth the premium.

The remaining 09s should now be going for 5k under invoice. If you have to have the latest and greatest get the 2010, but the difference is going to be at least 8k, likely more. Plus the 2.9 financing will go up. I looked at the numbers and bought an 09. I bet that 09/Mark Levinson could be had for 36-37k.

But hey it's your money...

Dont forget that they shifted some of the options around in the 2010. Some equipment that is standard on the 09 is now optional on the 2010.

We're in the exact same position (although we're also cross-shopping MB and BMW), but we are going to actually wait and see the vehicle in person before making that decision.

They will start hitting showrooms next month, supposedly, and I'm sure that the '09's are not going to go up in price by then. There will be ample inventory left in this economy to decide when comparing both models in person. Who knows?...the '09's might even drop a little more when the '10's actually arrive.

And exactly what do you get for that extra $10K besides the smart key system?

The dealer incentive is 5k this month for 09s. I wonder if the price can go much lower.

especially for the hybrid:

*better gas mileage
*more horsepower

*Push Button Start
*Integrated Turn Signal Lamps
*Hill Ascent Control
*wide view camera (or something like that)
*more room
*Remote Touch

And I also remember something about driving in electric mode for extended periods.

And you don't get the bad feeling of buying a previous generation model just before the new generation comes out

Might cost you an extra 200-250/mo in car payment x 60 months.

I am sorry lu1de, that list is not worth $10,000, unless you have money to burn and have the have the lastest and greatest.

I just picked up a base 09 rx350 demo with 8000KM on it for $40000CAD no freight pDI. MSRP is $42999 with freight $1800. The dealer wouldn't budge on the price but gave pretty good trade in price on my car so I bought it.

I didn't know the 2010 model was coming out next month. Factory to dealer rebates doesn't apply to demos does it? Maybe I would've got a better deal if I waited a month.

i've decided to get the 2009 rx AWD w/ Navigation + Mark Levinson Premium Package
i felt that the 37K price which amounts to around 40K after all the taxes and fees is definitely worth it.
the 2010 lexus definitely has its perks but i guess for me it is not worth the 6k-10k premium.
as a side note out of curiosity, someone said some standard 2009 features will be taken out of the 2010 model that means it will be a step down then.
however the remote touch feature is definitely a plus, and so is the revamped interior.
the exterior just looks too mazda CX9-ish. (the back)

I'm not sure what stealership your dealing with, but that is flat out bs.

You got a decent deal, but for the dealer to not even tell you is ridiculous. My dealership recommended that we wait even though they know we are in the market to replace our current RX. They didn't even suggest discussing the '09 until we had a chance to see the '10.

The Mark Levinson-equipped Luxury package RX will be closer to $52K or $53K for the 2010.

For you guys thinking about the payments, I know a lease payment will look like a GX payment does right now.
