Default 2010 rx gvwr

Hello, Put a deposit down on my wifes 2010 RX yesterday. Should be here at the end of Feb. Turning in our 06 RX lease at the same time. Does anyone know what the GVWR is of the 2010 RX? I know its gained a bunch of weight and was curious if its gonna meet the 6000lb GVWR needed for section 179 for a small business. Our 2006 has a GVWR of 5245 and I see that in 07 and 08 its 5265. I'm buying it regardless but I sure would like the extra tax deduct!

Thanks in advance

the official numbers unloaded say that the RX350 weighs in at 4,340 and thats a gain of a few hundred pounds so i dont know what kind of options you must have to get the current RX to 5245

how much deposit did you put down?

The GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) is calculated by adding the curb weight to the cargo capacity.

I have seen it written where the new RX 350 AWD weighs in at 4,510 lbs. Very doubtful the max cargo load capacity would also increase from around 1200 lbs. to the needed 1500 lbs.

4500 lbs! That is one heavy vehicle.

Thanks for the replies but, If the current RX GVWR is 5265lb (Check your tag on drivers door sill) And the car is gaining approx 450lb's (the proportions are growing also.) Then RX330INFL is correct that the capacity would have to increase by 285lb. Probably not gonna happen buts its gonna be real close. If its gets there a small business can deduct $25,000 the first year for depreciation.
RXSF I put down a $1,000 deposit

Thanks guys and I'll call the dealer today to see if they know yet, but since they dont even know MSRP I dont think they'll have GVWR

Hi There,
I am looking at buying the 2010 RX350 AWD.
I went by the dealers and when I looked for the GVWR on the drivers door I see that the combined GVWR (from + rear) is more than 6000 lb.
Does that mean it will qualify for the section 179 deduction.
The gvwr give online on the lexus sites like the below give the GVWR at 5650lb

http://www.lexus.ca/lexus/experience...1BAT&year=2010

Any one has any thoughts regarding this ?
