My dealer had their official launch for the 2010 RX tonight They had 3 in the showroom. Just received them the night before. Great party too; first class, great food!
About the RX: Bottom line; I have an 09 PB and don't feel the urge to trade up. No question, the new one is nice, but the differences on the exterior are subtle enough to not really make that much difference. Inside, lots of changes but again, nothing to compel me to trade. Oh sure, if I was in the market, I'd be there, But for my situation, I'm good with the '09 for another 4 years at least.
Apparently for Canada we have 5 - 2010 models; a base, which really looks it; no power hatch even. 3 models are in the middle and then the top end is very nice. No PB version for us, yet. Equipment is nice, but the power seats didn't seem to extend. There is an adjustment for the front edge of the seat, but it moves up and down, not in and out. Do like the new arm rests; like a car as opposed to a minivan. Less wood trim, but none in the lower lines at all. Top model has front park assist sensors as well. Price range is $40K to well over $60K. No hybrid on display. Place was packed so I didn't get to talk to dealer staff too much. That center joystick thing is interesting. It seemed loose to me; guess I was expecting some feedback or stiffness or something. Appears to basically be a mouse that doesn't move but has a joystick instead of a wheel.
Just my 2 cents.

Totally agree. I have a '99 RX and I don't even really feel that the 2010 is that much improved (or better looking) over my RX that I "NEED TO" get a RX now. In your situation, given the right price differential, I would probably take an '09 Peeble Beach over the '10 RX. There just isn't enough "umph" in the new RX that makes it stand out as MUCH better. Atleast the 2nd Gen RX had the power lightgate, bigger engine, and better NAV over the 1st Gen. The 2010 RX is really just a "new" RX.

We had 4 older RX's in our lives. The new 2010 is much better than the old version. We may be getting one.

No offense,
But the 1999 RX had the most ridiculous and pathetic handling of any cars I have ever owned in the past 20-30 years. Lousy flimsy handling on highways and terrible braking and sluggish acceleration. Not a very safe handling car overall. THe 2004 RX we had was much superior but didn't cut it. The ML350 we have now is one of the best SUV ever out of the BMW, Infiniti, Lexus, Jeep, and Land Rovers.
Hope the new RX handles nice and carries passanger and luggage and handles well in snow and does well in the snow and on highways.

Dag... ripped by you new dawgs on the RX...
I don't know what you guys are doing in snow or on the road, but I think the RX is plenty fine for what it's suppose to do, get you through snow (I've never been stuck yet) and transport 5 people comfortably. If you want a SUV to run through the tracks, then no, the RX is not that good.
Again, don't see any big improvements on the 2010 that would make me switch. Maybe I just like my RX300 too much...
