Default Does the new 2010 RX has HD music storage?

Does anybody knows if the new RX has the hard disk music storage like the LS460. I would love to have that feature. I have also seen Acura and Nissan offering it in their TL's and Maxima's.
I am gonna go next week to check the new RX.
Thankyou.

Well, before you get too disappointed I can tell you that I have an Infiniti with the HD music storage and I have never used it!

One of the biggest drawbacks (and it may just be Infiniti's implementation) is that the only music you can put on the HD is via inserting CDs into the system and having them record. If you have to have any updates, etc. done to the audio system they erase your HD and you have to start all over again.

There is also a compact flash slot but you can't load music onto the HD from a compact flash card.

I also have the iPod integration and based on the inconvenience of having to re-record every CD as well as the ease of use of the iPod and the fact that I could end up losing everything I haven't even needed the HD music system.

So for my money, it isn't even worth it to me. Now Lexus may have a different/better implementation so this doesn't mean that it will be the same thing on the RX but if I have iPod integration I think I'll be just fine.

Well what about the ipod integration. Can we access the song list while driving? Its a real bummer that we dont have the music storage, I was looking forward for it.
Thankyou

you can access ipod information right from the navigation screen. there is also bluetooth streaming from your cell phone, and also a USB connector. So i guess you can just by a 10 dollar 10 gb flash drive to hold you over

Are you sure? I just took out a 2010 RX and it looks like the USB connector is JUST for an ipod. Will it indeed take a thumb drive, or memory card adapter? I have a 16GB thumb drive in my Pilot - it is slicker than .....

Agree with DigMyM35x, the ipod interface is much easier to use. I have both on my other car and find myself using the ipod interface much more often.

Which other car, may I ask?

I have both memory card and ipod integration on 2 of my MB's. The ipod interface isn't worth using compared to the memory card interface. Maybe Lexus's is better!

We have a EX350, it has a 9 G hard drive for music and a I-pod interface. It will accept compact flash as well but we don’t have a compact flash reader on our computer so the i-pod is much easier to use. I also like using i-tune which makes organizing the music much easier.

Thanks for clarifying that. I just checked it out on edmunds, it looks nice but with very small back seat room and cargo space.
Thankyou RXSF

I just purchased the 2010 RX and the earlier posts are correct. The HDD is not of much use for anything except the NAV system. What I did was to copy about 4 GIG off my PC's "My Music" folder onto a USB memory stick. The 2010 with the HDD has a USB socket and knows what to do with it and has built-in support for a USB device. If I need more music, I'll use a 16 GIG stick.

I've spent way to much time configuring this car, but I have it the way I like it and am very happy with it. They've done it right this time.

So You can listen to the music through your usb port in the RX? Does it show the title and track listings?
Thankyou
