Had a couple of questions. Does the car come with folding mirrors? And have you used the Lexus LPS settings? Also was the small credit card smart key available? They were too new when I saw one at my dealer. And they didnt know.
Thanks
No auto-folding mirrors. I did use the settings (I wanted my doors to all unlock when I grab the handle). I'm thinking of ordering the slim key; they're $199, plus another $60 or so for the metal key insert.
The remote start does stop the engine as soon as you unlock the doors, regardless of how you do it (including just opening a door). Since the start mechanism is activated by pressing the lock buttons, there appears to be no way around this.
the engine shuts off when you open the doors and then you have to restart it. its a safety issue so nobody steals your car!
How are they going to steal your car when the doors are lock, also, most remote starter will shut off the car if you try to shift out of park without the keys. Having to start the car twice is just idiotic, just like the Nav lockout, it just another good example of Lexus going out of its way to be a pain in @ss.

Im not familiar enough with the system to say, but does the system shut of also if you were to unlock the car using the key fob button while the engine is running?
Shutting the car off is about safety and liability. To start the car normally, you have to be in the driver seat with your foot on the brake. They won't let a driving session begin without that sequence of events happening.
All other remote starter requires you to enter the car, insert the key into the ignition, place foot on the brakes and shift out of park. If you miss any of these steps, the engine will shut off. So how is it safer to shut off the engine before you enter, all that starting and shutting off cannot be too good for the starter.
the remote key is an optional accessory, you pay for it after you buy the car and it works with any lexus vehicle with smart access. I think the key is around $250

Here in Canada it's avaialble for "Premium level 2" and higher trims.
Might seem like a minor thing but for me this was indispensable as I don't even carry a key for my Lexus. This "card" plus the smart access feature allows me to lock/unlock via the door handle, while the push start button allows me start/stop the engine -- all without a fob key. This may not be appreciated as much by Women who has a purse to put stuff, but I have to say for a guy with many other keys to carry tghis is great as it greatly reduces my keychain bulkiness.
The fob key would only be needed if I wanted to open the back hatch remotely, or lower the window remotely.
