As follows: iPod goes out at times. Message on screen: Check your connection. Footnote: I have two iPods: One is the touch version, other is the classic. This occurs with both iPods. Perhaps it is the USB to iPod connector wire? This wire does not come with the new RX. I had to supply my own, which was not exactly new. The problem is temporarily solved - for a 1/2 hour or so . . .by simply disconnecting the connecting wire from the bottom of the iPod and reconnecting. Works like a charm then . . .but only for a 1/2 hour or so. Any ideas on this? No issues with the vehicle other than this. p

I dont think anyone knows much information. Since you are one of the first here with the car. I would take it to the dealer.

Thank you for the suggestion . . but . . . I do not want to be part of the "in-service" correction program . . the one where they take pieces/parts apart, replace, ending up with potential rattles and electrical shorts and fuse issues. Been there. Not so important. I shall try replacing the cord on my own . . and address this issue if it still continues in six months or so. The voice of experience here! p

Thanks ISBU . . . One of my iPods is the iPod Touch . . 16 gig. It is NOT the iPhone. Maybe it is not the 1.1 or higher?? How do I find out which version I have. I'm not sure which iPod the other one is . . .I believe it's 80 gig. How can I access that info? And . . if you are correct, is it possible for me to update my two iPods?? Thanks so much for your help. p

Default IPod

You might also try restoring your Ipod on your ITunes web page. Then it will have the latest updates.

connecting to itunes will and checking for updates will insure you have the latest firmware on your ipod. you may not have to do a restore as suggested above, I'm not sure. But it can't hurt. I think you are making a good choice to replace the cable and upgrading firmware before you have the dealer chase it.

Keys and ecount00: Thanks so much for your suggestions. I'll take your advice . . . and update my iPods next week when I have a chance. In the meantime, I will transfer the USB connection wire from my Mini Cooper Clubman today! I appreciate the care. Peter

You can find out what version on your ipod itself. On you ipod... go to settings, then "about", it will show all the information about your ipod.

Ok . . . Just came back from the official iPod store and purchased the official USB connector for my official RX350. I hope this officially resolves this issue. P

Can you hook up iPods via USB AND AUX ports? (I've seen this on my friend's XB).

Was one or the other an option? While going through the detailed specs on Lexus.com, it didn't list an AUX port as standard equipment.

NeverSatisfied: I cannot imagine going through the AUX port. You would be using your iPod headphone output mini jack and no info would show up on screen. The USB port gives complete information and control on songs; albums; artists; playlists; etc. . . .and is fully controllable on steering wheel. Quality of sound is excellent. Separately, with the use of the USB port, one's iPod is being charged. I have not experimented with the AUX port. p
