Default 0W-20 oil spec for 2010 RX-350

This topic came up in another thread. But, anyone else notice this in the new 2010 RX-350 owner's manual & oil cap?

Toyota & Lexus seem to be moving toward 0W-20 synthetic oil in all the new models.

The oil change is not cheap!

Many auto makers have switched their luxury vehicles to synthetics already so Lexus is over due. I have used synthetics for over 25 years & would never go back.

Many lube joints are far less. DIY even cheaper.
Also, will your dealer let u bring in your own synthetic oil??

Dealers will always be dealer, if I bring in my own oil, they charge me more for labor I would never bring my Lexus to a Juffy Lube.

Yes. Most dealerships will let you bring in your own oil and charge a nominal fee for the oil filter, labor, etc.

If you are a Do-It-Yourselfer, I would encourage you to use an API approved ILSAC 0W-20 as specified by the owner's manual so that there are no warranty issues.

Here is a list of API approved 0W-20.
